blog...

Changes

I’ll be making a few changes around here soon.

First, I’m post here everyday, something I should be doing.

Second, Bill Nichols and I are rethinking the way we offer up the online comics: more of a download, not a read each week. Let me know what you think?

Take care,
Robert

Blood and Roses: Majestic chapter one wraps.

Today is the final page of B&R: Majestic, Chapter One. It’s amazing to look at this work and realize that we worked on it over 15 years ago. Brad Gorby’s artwork is awesome and still holds up to anything being published today. Lucky for us Brad also illustrated Chapter Two starting this Friday!
Enjoy,
Robert

So, what do you think?

We’ve been running for over a month with five updates a week with no problems from the site. A first, I must say. WordPress and ComicsPress have done a great job.

I was wondering what you think about the site? Does it offer enough entertainment? Is five pages a week too much? Not enough? etc.

The HellWar story has now been re-titled to “TimeWar”. The main reason is that the story has expanded and we didn’t want to stop with just the one story, so the “Hell” part of the war is actually the first chapter of a ongoing story.

We hope to start posting some preproduction art here within the next week or so and have a start date very soon.
Enjoy_ _

REMEMBERING….. MICHAEL TURNER

I’m sure by now most of you know that the comic industry has lost one of its greatest talents.

Michael Turner passed this last weekend. I found out like many others on the convention floor at Wizard Chicago before the doors opened. It was a shock for all of us at the Blue Line booth, even though we knew he was continuing his fight with cancer.

Professionally I would meet Mike several times at conventions over the years, always picking up his latest sketchbook or ashcan. Blue Line prints the paper for Aspen Comics, Michael’s company, but we work closely with Frank Mastromauro, not with Mike. I don’t have a great professional story to tell you other then he has always been very friendly to me and the rest of the Blue Line staff.

Personally, what I can pass along about Mike happened five years ago. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer before we went to Wizard Chicago 2003. A colleague passed along to Mike that my wife had breast cancer and was undergoing treatments. As usual I made my way up to the front of the show on Saturday afternoon. Mike was busy signing autographs and meeting fans. Frank saw me and called me over to see if it was indeed my wife with cancer. I told him yes. Frank said that Mike wanted a minute. Mike stopped signing, came over and gave me his personnel cell phone number. He said that if my wife had any questions about cancer or the treatments to please have her call him. Again, Mike only knows me because we print his paper. That’s the kind of guy Mike was; caring and giving to everyone.

Even though my wife never called him she truly appreciated the gesture and kindness. I believe because of Mike’s kindness my wife has taken his lead to help others and created an email list to remind friends, family or anyone to self examine once a month.

Thanks Mike, that gesture has left a very lasting impression on our family.

Every sunset that I see from now on I’ll wonder if Mike, up in the heavens, had a hand in creating it. Heaven needed him for a reason.

Take care,

Heroes Con 2008 WOW

Heroes Convention 2008 was great! I got to meet alot of fans and talk up the new website and I can’t wait to go back next year with a full SkyStormOnline.com setup.
I’ve been asked many times this weekend when will the new HellWar story start. All I can say at this time is please be patient; it will be worth the wait. Bill and I plan of making the new HellWar event or priority this weekend at Chicago.
Believe me…it will be worth it.

I’ve been asked about how the blogging is going to work on this site since we have so many projects running all on one site and each projects has its own blog area. For me, I’ll be making my main blogs here on the index page. I’ll try of offer little tidbits and blogs on each of the projects running at least once a week, if not more.

The site continues to run without any problems. Aren’t WordPress and ComicPress wonderful?. I truly suggest if you’re thinking about publishing on the internet that you invest in the little bit of time it takes to learn WordPress and ComicsPress.

Take care,
Robert W.
